About the Position

A network administrator/IT coordinator is a critical part of our admin team, responsible for developing and maintaining the hardware, software, and servers for our team. The network administrator will interface with every member of the Jennings’ team to keep their technology working and secure. A successful network administrator will have a passion for the technical details of running IT systems as well as supporting others.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • US Citizen
  • No clearance required

Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Delivery, setup, installation, troubleshooting, update, and repair of all hardware and software (workstations, printers, phone systems, etc.) for a team of ~50 people
  • Work with our IT provider to maintain the network, servers, and VPN
  • Provide IT support to all team members
  • Communicate, discuss, and listen to challenges with management, teammates, etc.

Base Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in IT
  • Experience running networks and servers
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity topics and practices
  • Knowledge of network architecture and technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Unending patience with machines and the people who use them
  • Computer (Windows PC) competency in MS Office and MS Excel

Additional Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT
  • Ability to run and terminate network cables
  • Experience developing/upgrading networks

About the Position

A fabricator or composites technician is an integral part of our production team, working in the fabrication shop to fabricate, assemble, and repair various UAV components using materials including carbon fiber, aramid fabrics, resins, and adhesives. Fabricators are responsible for building assemblies to a spec, ensuring that all work and components meet rigorous quality standards. These team members work across various areas of the shop, including wet layup, prepreg, and finish work. A good composites technician combines hands-on skills with a strong knowledge of materials including their proper handling and required personal protective equipment.

A successful fabricator understands the importance of building consistent, identical components, paying attention to all the details along the way. Most importantly, a composites technician is a self-starter who has a team mindset: communicating obstacles to the team lead, taking up work without being asked, closely inspecting components, and diligently filling out required paperwork.

Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Follow verbal and written instructions to configure and assemble composite components
  • Configure, assemble, and bond raw composite materials and components
  • Post-process finishing such as sanding, cutting, trimming, deburring, cleaning, priming, and painting by hand
  • Report progress and challenges to the fabrication supervisor
  • Assist engineering and other production staff in resolving issues related to equipment and processes as required
  • Working in a collaborative environment
  • Filling out travelers and documenting components’ progress through the shop
  • Following all shop safety requirements
  • Following all office procedures, including tracking hours and cleaning up workspaces

Base Qualifications:

  • Experience in a fabrication, assembly, manufacturing, or engineering environment
  • Enjoys working with their hands
  • Able to work together on a team
  • The ability to follow verbal and written procedures, good communication skills

About the Position

An electronics technician is an integral part of our production team; they are responsible for building assemblies to the document specification, ensuring that all work and components meet rigorous quality standards. A successful electronics technician has a keen attention to detail and supports others in the shop and throughout the company, both technically and as teammates.

Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing and assembling cables and wire harnesses
  • Testing and function checking completed assemblies
  • Filling out travelers and documenting components’ progress through the shop
  • Regular use of the following tools: soldering iron, wire cutter/stripper/crimper, screwdriver, hand drill/grinder/cutter, drill press, Windows PC, digital multi-meter, etc.
  • Communicate, discuss, and listen to challenges with management, teammates, etc.

Base Qualifications:

  • Experience with soldering and/or hand crimping
  • Experience in a production setting
  • Familiarity with analog and digital electronics
  • Familiarity using a microscope
  • The ability to read and follow schematics, drawings, procedures, etc.
  • Computer (Windows PC) competency in word processing and spreadsheets

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience using a digital multimeter
  • Electronics projects or work experience portfolio
  • Current or past IPC J-STD-001 certification
  • Current or past IPC-A-610 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification
  • Can apply Ohm’s Law in a practical situation
  • Experience troubleshooting PCBs and/or embedded systems

About the Position:
Our inventory control specialist is responsible for all aspects of shipping, receiving, and physical inventory of materials and supplies for our manufacturing operations. In addition, they perform the critical functions of receiving inspection, work order kitting, and material routing. The specialist is expected to maintain an organized inventory space while keeping our critical processes supplied with an adequate volume of conforming build kits. Clear, proactive communication and sense of urgency are essential in this vital role.

Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a sense of ownership of the enclosed inventory room
  • Maintaining and updating inventory and purchasing records
  • Reporting and investigating discrepancies between records and physical counts
  • Cycle counting and monthly reconciliation of inventory against financial reports
  • Picking, kitting, and packing items from inventory to fulfill order requirements
  • Review and print released documentation to confirm document version
  • Communicating stock status and delays with management, purchasing, engineering, and production
  • Receiving, unloading, and signing for deliveries
  • Inspect deliveries to ensure received materials match order and invoices
  • Processing returns for non-conforming product

Additional Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years of inventory control
  • Excellent math and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, willing to work with others
  • Experience with MS office, ERP system, QuickBooks
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation is preferred
  • Forklift experience is preferred
  • Able to lift 40 pounds

About the Position

We are looking for a staff accountant to join our team for day-to-day accounting activities. The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where creative thinking, problem solving, analysis, efficiency, autonomy, and initiative are required. Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Multi-entity reporting
  • Accounts payable:
    • Enter bills and credit card statements
    • Pay bills in accordance with their terms
    • Vendor correspondence
    • Vendor account reconciliations
  • Assist in processing payroll
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Support successful month-end closing process
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Filing and organization

Base Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete assignments within deadlines
  • Ability to multitask
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • 1-4 years accounting experience

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with QuickBooks (QuickBooks Online preferred)
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
  • Knowledge of General Accounting, Financial reporting, and GAAP concepts
  • Knowledge of DCAA/DCMA cost accounting standards
  • General Ledger Accounting experience

About the Position:

Jennings Aeronautics is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for period-end close, GAAP financial reporting, payroll, treasury management, accounts payable, customer billing and accounts receivable, budget management, inventory accounting, implementation of internal control policies and procedures, and working with public accounting firms for audits, tax filings and other accounting services. Additionally, the position will require an understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), DCMA/DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions, and other aspects of accounting for government or defense contracts. This is a position that will work closely with senior management, and provide support to engineering and manufacturing operations, program management teams, and other business partners and stakeholders.

Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Administering a variety of technology platforms for accounting, timekeeping, payroll, benefits, and ERP/MRP
  • Supporting accurate and timely month-end close procedures
  • Regular review and recommendation of improvements for accounting processes and closing procedures
  • Preparation, reporting and analysis of financial statements
  • Ensuring timely and accurate billing, and managing accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Supporting other departments such as contracts, finance, human resource, and engineering and manufacturing operations
  • Maintaining compliance with government contract cost accounting standards
  • Supporting the firm’s annual GAAP reporting financial audit
  • Ensuring accounting system data integrity and record keeping best practices
  • Working closely with management for employee time charging practices
  • Familiarity with job costing and cost and price proposals
  • Preparing payroll
  • Sales & Use tax administration
  • Preparing 1099’s
  • Workers’ Compensation reporting
  • Year-end Tax coordination
  • Development and maintenance of accounting procedures and process memos

Base Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) rules and regulations
  • Deep analytical ability to understand and solve complicated accounting and finance problems
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to utilize data analysis tools such as filtering and sorting tools
  • Attention to accuracy and detail
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Based on work requirements, applicants must comply with NOFORN security classification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree
  • CPA (inactive okay)
  • Prior audit or transaction advisory services experience in a public accounting firm
  • Experience with ERP/MRP software applications
  • Experience in a large organization with multiple divisions, entities, product or service lines, and well-developed accounting processes and procedures
