A fuel cell converts chemical energy of a fuel, like propane or hydrogen, into cleanly and efficiently produced electricity. Fuel cells are unique in part because of their flexibility and ability to be used in a variety of applications; they can provide power for systems as large as utility power grids and as small as a drone. There are different types of fuel cells, but today we’re going to focus on propane fuel cells.

AE Industrial Partners, LP (“AEI”), a private equity firm specializing in Aerospace, Defense & Government Services, Power Generation, and Specialty Industrial markets, announced today that it has acquired UAV Factory, a global leader in the tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) technology markets. UAV Factory will be a new standalone unmanned technology platform for AEI, as the firm looks to further invest in this fast-growing market. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
UAV Factory announces the release of Penguin C Mk2 system – company’s most advanced small tactical UAS. Penguin C Mk2 successfully completed validation flight program and the company started deliveries to the customers.
Most recently, the Penguin C UAV from UAV Factory has been acquired by company Clear Pulse, to be used in the event of a disaster. In such a situation, the fixed-wing UAV will perform airborne radiological surveys to detect, study and map the radiation levels. These flights will then give a better idea than before about the safety and evacuation decisions needed. Clear Pulse manufactures radiation measurement products, and its contract with UAV Factory, signed in 2018, covers delivery and various follow-up support services for the Penguin C and its ancillary equipment.

CLEAR-PULSE /JDRONE successfully conducted its first acceptance flight of the Penguin C UAS over Fukushima, Japan on Friday the 15th of May 2020. It has been announced that Penguin C will be used for researching and monitoring radiation in the event of a nuclear power plant accident.
