About the Position

The Facilities Technician performs a variety of routine maintenance for Edge Autonomy’s facility and ensures that the Facility is consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical trades work. Maintenance of the building/facility, equipment, and machinery, including, CNC machines, oven and freezer appliances, compressors, fume hoods, paint booths, and overall facility appearance. This position is responsible for scheduling and completing maintenance and ensuring facilities and equipment comply with applicable codes, ordinances, safety standards and proper documentation for work completed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the facilities are fully operational with all systems functioning properly
  • Assembles, repairs, maintains, and moves furniture
  • Completes small electrical repairs, if certified
  • Develops and implements systems and processes to establish and maintain all inspection, audit, and maintenance records
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Monitor and repair facilities systems and technical devices directly supporting test and building operations (compressors, gas storage, freezer/refrigerator alarm systems, building alarm panels/sensors, camera systems)
  • Oversees activities of contractors, vendor personnel, and suppliers
  • Responds to emergency situations on short notice
  • Maintains working spaces in safe and clean condition

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • I9 documentation at hire
  • Background Check
  • 5 years of experience in the related area
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management
  • Ability to take initiative and think proactively
  • Ability to work some extended hours (early/late shifts as required, etc.)
  • Able to problem solve
  • Honest, trustworthy, reliable, respectful
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Ability to operate scissor lift and forklift
  • Covid-19 Vaccination status of Fully Vaccinated
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Knowledge of facility regulations and safety standards (OSHA, EPA, ADA, NFPA)

Hiring Requirements

If an offer of employment is extended, a background check is required, and the offer of employment is contingent on the results. This is an hourly position requiring 40 hours a week during normal business hours. Additional hours may be required to support development or production goals. Being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 is a condition of employment at Edge Autonomy. Proof of vaccination or an accommodation request approved by Edge Autonomy will be required prior to starting employment with the company.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the candidate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Most work is performed in enclosed buildings. This position is primarily housed in a temperature-controlled office. While performing the duties, the candidate is frequently exposed to computer terminals, sitting, and standing for long lengths of time. Frequent and prolonged periods of time looking at a computer screen. Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, sitting, and bending during each workday. The vision requirement includes close vision, distant vision, and computer vision. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard. Usage of copier machines, printer machines, and machines designated to engineering practices. Carrying up to 50 pounds. PPE for production, as well as PPE for Covid and infectious diseases, include facial masks, protective gloves as necessary. These ADA requirements are not inclusive of the performed and responsibilities to be held by the candidate.
