Headquartered in San Luis Obispo, California, Edge Autonomy specializes in the design and manufacturing of highly engineered uncrewed technology systems that are utilized in a wide variety of military, civil, and academic applications. Our product portfolio includes proven, best-in-class, tactical Group 2 and 3 UAS, subsystems, payloads, ground control stations, fuel injected engines, catapults, and solid oxide fuel cells.
We have a diverse ecosystem of uncrewed platforms, EO/IR camera payloads, and ruggedized power solutions, as well as a broad global manufacturing footprint of over 280,000ft2 and flight test facilities in the United States and the European Union. With a global base of more than 600 experienced employees – including some of the world’s top unmanned systems engineers and payload sensor experts – Edge Autonomy is in a unique position to help customers positively impact their ISR operations.
Edge Autonomy’s in-house production and modular system design allow for cost-effective, hands-on development that reduces supply chain and schedule risks. Many of our components, such as our gimbals line of optronic surveillance solutions and our off grid power solutions, are frequently used in other programs, while our uncrewed aircraft remain vendor and payload agnostic. This unique structure enables the Edge Autonomy team to be highly responsive to customer needs. Without the hinderances inherit in overly stratified models and by placing the needs of the customer first, Edge Autonomy is able to rapidly achieve high readiness levels. This unique approach allows us to provide competitive offers while simultaneously alleviating concerns of cost, supply chain disruption, and schedule slip.
Edge Autonomy is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the VXE30 “Stalker” uncrewed aircraft system. This UAS technology has been advanced and adapted in continuous iterations since its first delivery to the US military in 2006. Edge Autonomy is also the OEM of the Penguin series UAS and the Octopus ISR payload gimbals.
